Never have I witnessed a wedding with so much laughter and tears! With joyous and loving personalities, Tim and Jade said their vows under the beautiful Big Trees in Arnold, California. The weather was absolutely perfect for this enchanted and whimsical outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. Everything showed who Tim & Jade are as a couple: their love for the outdoors, love for friends & family and especially their love for each other.
Getting Ready at the Big Trees Cabins
When I arrived at the cabin that the girls were getting ready at, Jade was in the process of picking a lip color. She could not decide if she should do a dark vampy lip or a lighter red. It all came down to what made her her and not the wedding bride norm. Whatever Jessica from Polish and Pout used- get me some of that! It looked good all day and totally completed the color scheme Jade had with her bouquet. Way to go bridesmaids to assist in the decision making!
There had been some talk from the bridesmaids that Tim had referenced this gift he got her the previous night, but was trying really hard not to give anything away. Paired with the gift was a handwritten letter that Jade herself couldn't read the first time. It was beautiful and romantic. Click here to see the video posted earlier!
Social Media Minute
A cool moment during the ceremony that I had not experience before was when the master of ceremonies (MC), Steve Schon from Function 45 Event Entertainment out of Sacramento, gave the guests a "social media minute." After Jade made it down the aisle and given to Tim in front of a fallen Big Tree, everyone had the freedom to get up and move around to take pictures with their phones and devices. After that, everyone was to put their devices away and be in the moment of the rest of the ceremony.
The photographer, Scott Macon, did an excellent job capturing the wedding from beginning to end. My favorite was when Tim decided to put on a wolf mask and scare Jade during their sunset shoot. It was almost ruined when Jade looked back at their wedding party to see what all the fuss was about. Thankfully she didn't turn around all the way, or her hair was blocking Tim from her vision, but the moment was hysterical and Jade thought so too! It was like the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood.
After dinner and toasts, Jade and Tim decided to s'mores instead of cake cutting. It was perfect because the guests had the opportunity to join in with them and make some of their own too! Plus, if you are not a big s'more person, you can always take a piece of chocolate or gram cracker.
It was such a blessing to have been part of Tim and Jade's special day in California's Big Trees. Congratulations to Tim & Jade Pillsbury!
